Rod Serling predicted the future!

  1. The title of that episode should have been Shallow Val. Rod Serling and his team of writers saw what was coming and the Twilight Zone series was based on those chilling glimpses into the future. Most of Serling's prognostications have come true. It was already starting in the 60's and today more than ever our society worships youth, beauty, superficial flash and style over substance. Look at how many fine TV series are getting the axe to make room for more reality shows and talent competitions. I say let's elect Paris Hilton as president and get it over with! By the way I don't mean to brag but I amaze myself with my ability to come up with the names of actors and actresses while watching old TV shows and movies. As soon as this clip started I recognized Pamela Austin as Val. Pam was eye candy in Elvis movies and early to mid 60's TV shows. In addition, she was the Progressive Flo of her day, famous as The Dodge Girl in the long running ad campaign. I also recognized Richard Long, the handsome young actor who appeared in one of my favorite horror movies The House on Haunted Hill (1959). Just some TMI thrown in for good measure, Israel.
